During your visit to Ecuador, you have to visit these three wonderful places, which will fascinate you with their beauty, history and culture. You will know one the most wonderful lagoons of Ecuador: Quilotoa Lagoon with its amazing landscapes, paramos, llamas, mountains and its communities of Andes, which will guarantee you an experience of the Andean Ecuador. You will also visit the extraordinary Cotopaxi National Park, home to the second highest active volcano in the country, the Cotopaxi volcano. You will be charmed by the city of Baños de Agua Santa, a place with wonderful waterfalls such as the Devil’s Pailon, Mantle of the Bride, and you can climb the Swing of the End of the World, in the House of the Tree, with its breathtaking view of the Tungurahua Volcano.

Day 1: Laguna de Quilotoa

The Quilotoa Lagoon is considered among the most beautiful in the world, its name from Quichua, “Quiru” tooth and “Toa” princess, is a caldera formed by the collapse of this volcano, occurred 800 years ago, with a depth of 250 m (820.21 ft) approximately and a diameter of 3 km. Its height is 3914 m (12841.21 ft).

With our tour to Quilotoa you can enjoy the unique landscapes of the lagoon, admire its beauty from the caldera or descend and experience the kayak and boat rides.

Day 2: Baños de Agua Santa

This small city is located in the province of Tungurahua, one hour from Ambato, 180 km from Quito, known worldwide for being the “adventure sports capital of South America”, it is also known for its hot springs, for its active volcano Tungurahua, which can be observed quietly from some trails.

You can enjoy the hot springs, visit the magical waterfalls, among them, the best known: the Pailón del Diablo, Agoyán, de la Virgen and the Manto de la Novia waterfall. We will visit the most incredible viewpoints, where you can observe the beauty of the welcoming city, one of them, of course, the Tree House. Baños is popular for being considered the gateway to the Amazon of Ecuador. In addition, it has other adventure activities such as kayaking, rafting, canopy; and the nightlife will provide you with a super gastronomy.

Day 3: Cotopaxi National Park

The meaning of Cotopaxi is “Moon Neck”, assimilated in the Quichua language. It is located in the canton Latacunga, province of Cotopaxi. It is the second highest volcano in the country, with its 5897 m (19347.11 ft), is also considered among the most attractive volcanoes in the world, for its constant eruptions. Its climate is rainy and dry, with an average temperature of 10°C (50°F).

On the third day you will visit Cotopaxi National Park, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the avenue of volcanoes and wildlife.

On our hike to the José Rivas refuge at 4864 m (15958.01 ft), we will be able to reach the glaciers, if your physical condition allows it. Afterwards, we will trek around the Limpiopungo Lagoon, which is at 3800 m (12467.19 ft), you will have one of the best views of the Cotopaxi volcano. Other activities in Cotopaxi National Park include horseback riding, picnicking, hiking, flora and fauna observation.
